On the bleeding edge of management and technology

Company Culture

The culture of the company is great but...

Support from management

Management, specifically IT management, is quick to throw actual workers under the buss to protect their own bad advice to ownership

Teamwork

Despite management flaws actual employees work well together

Freedom to work independently

Flips back and forth between being "own your own with no guidance" to "painfully aggressive micromanagement.

Internal Communication

Management is more eager to push an agenda that it has spun to ownership than actually addressing what is really going on and what needs to be done...Cover UP country safari.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Slowly building age discrimination environment from Management toward actual workers.

Career Development

While HR pushed Development IT Management only developed Developers and gave minimal specific training to IT Ops workers.

Overall compensation for your work

Significant amounts of unpaid time and no comp time for extensive after hours, beyond 40 hour shift works and an on Call schedule that was punitive at best.

Office / Work Environment

Best looking building both inside and out I have ever worked in.

Environmental Friendliness

Very Green

Work-Life Balance

IT workers would be on call for as much as three weeks at a time with no relief

Company Image

I was proud to work for the company but ashamed of my department

Job Security

A constant threat of being replaced...right down to immediate management revealing to workers that the COO wanted to ax our positions

Handicapped Accessibility

Modern building with all the trimings.

Workplace Safety

While the company has a safety officer IT management constantly put workers at risk by not hiring additional help during moves and making salaried ops staff work 100 hour weeks.

Challenging Work

Never a dull Moment.

Inclusive / Diverse

Was originally diverse but started going Casper after Trump's Inauguration. Many managers came out of the White Supremacy Closet in February

Suggestions for improvement

  • Way too many Managers in IT. Probably best to get rid off all three of them and start fresh
