I was told this company really cared for their employees, and it was like a family but found it not to be true. When I was working for them I got septic and hospitalized. The company told me that they would be there for me. I was in the hospital for 11 days and had called in to tell them what was going on. They told me to file for unemployment and they would approve it. Not only did they not approve it, they denied telling me that, and on my 5th day in the hospital they fired me, and put me as a bad employee. I was literally in and out of the hospital from July until November fighting for my life with sepsis, blood clots and double kidney infection with 3 large infected stones.
Support from management
Only if it benefited them.
You are responsible for your own transportation and work. Other than the original 3 day training and over the phone coaching, it is all on you.
Freedom to work independently
Yes because that is basically what the job is about.
The left hand does not know what the right is doing. Apparently each person in the corporate office had no idea what the other had said. In fact I got a call from my regional manager about 5 months ago asking where I was, and if I wanted to come back to work. When he asked whatever happened to me, and I told him he said he would see if he could hire me back and never returned the call. I was fired in July 2015, and it is now May of 2018.
I think everyone is probably treated the same.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I have not idea.
Overall compensation for your work
They paid mileage over a certain amount of miles but not worth the wear and tear on your own personal vehicle.
Office / Work Environment
Dependent on the stores you work in for the company.
No one in the stores liked any of the vendors and didn't want to cooperate with anything we needed to get done.
I would work early mornings to late afternoons and travel within a 2 hour radius of where I live. I could schedule the stores as I wanted and have my weekends and holidays for me and my daughter.
Not really what they say it is.
No. Apparently if your dying it is easier to move on to the next person.
As long as you did your job right.
Only challenging in the way that you have to do a lot of driving, standing, bending, and what you would on your feet daily. As long as you have your display products on time you can get your job done right and quickly. The most challenging part is getting the store staff to like you and want to work with you because they feel you are an intrusion.

What I like about the company
Nothing. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
What I dislike about the company
They lied, to me, about me, and didn't care I was in the hospital literally almost dead when they fired me.
