Support from management
Management was disrespectful a few times during busy times due conflict between employees and a shortage of staff. Instead of striving for solutions during these stressful times, management approached the situation by threatening to fire employees, using expletives towards employees, and not appropriately resolving conflict between tenured employees and new hires. I often felt as if I had to walk on eggshells when I worked with particular employees. When I made management aware of the conflict, I believe their goal was to provide support but I felt tension withstanding.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would suggest improving the level of respect between employees; a consistent system of accountability for all employees; ensuring all employees are thoroughly trained to work on a Sunday due to a menu and specials change; and a stronger sense of collaboration.
