Campus dining policies and practices toward mid- level management is the worst which I have ever experienced. The union controls the way Campus Dinning handles concerns toward mid-level managers. There is absolutely NO support and loyalty to managers. It is every person for them selves.
Support from management
Campus dinning DOES NOT SUPPORT ITS MANAGEMENT. Campus dining is more worried about its image as a internal natural work force instead of a workforce of culinary knowledge. Staff are hired based on the political climate instead of the correct person for the position.
Campus dinning has NO teamwork. CAMPUS dinning has created an environment ruled by decepticons and fear.
Freedom to work independently
Thers is only so mu h indendence in Operations.
No communications at all from Senor Campus Dining management. The Assistant Vice President does not know managers names, does not know her wY around campus, Allows her 1 Assistant to run wild with decision making with little or NO experience in this area. Thd policy is to be honest and open to create an environment of inclusion to bring out the best in all.
When you do not agree or you call Senior Level Management out for not knowing and suggest a change you are punished even eliminated from the University
Gender equality has moved too far to one side. Now you need to be of some type of alternate lifestyle and you'll be hired before somebody who does not have an alternate lifestyle just so the university and Campus Dining can say they are diverse and inclusive.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The attitude towards older colleagues is such that you are over the hill it's time for you to retire. Senior Management through the university has changed to a younger new hipster Style and anybody who is from the old for the past is obsolete. it will find a way to put you out to pasture make you retire or Trump up allegations and put you through their kangaroo court and H are what you are not allowed to have legal representation at all and after months of putting you on administrative leave they bring you in and cut your loose and far are you or should I say terminate your employment with University. And you have no repercussion their investigation is run by their rules and no legal rules.
Campus Dining has no career development for mid-level managers there are no options to move up once you're in a position it's for life or you leave or you get terminated
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation and benefits cannot be matched by other companies, the benefits in conversation are unbelievably good
Office / Work Environment
Campus Dining for mid-level managers the work environment is very stressful very worrisome and very decaturil ship. we're supposed to be open and have her own opinions. Never speak your opinion because if you do you would put out the pasture and or including termination.
Environmental friendliness is up to the individual if you are a person with type of person who likes to build relationships positive relationships you can as long as the people in your area also want to build profit positive relationships. But there are many in Campus Dining the do not want to build positive relationships they know all they have to do is make allegations if they don't like you or don't like what you're doing as a department head and you become under investigation and once you're being investigated you are terminated or you stay employed with the University you're never the same again.
Work-life balance in the past qas unlike no othwr company I was even employed. In the past 5 years the University / Campus dinning has moved to atmosphere of using your Benefits such as sick, personal, vacation as a hardship on the department.
Campus Dining puts out an extremely positive image for all to see in the Public's eye. But behind the scenes it is the worst place I've ever worked for in my life.
Campus Dining mid-level managers no job security if you are in a decision-making position.
Up to code
they don't have the proper equipment but do the employees use it no and then when the employee gets injured mid-level management is to blame because I've not been trained with the proper equipment. This is a total falsehood there are training sessions all the time throughout the year by mid-level management and by environmental safety.
The work is not challenging, Senior Management and Campus Dining do not have the concept of operations and how things really get done with union members. every 3 months there is a new agenda. There's always a state of turmoil and Campus Dining operations
Inclusive / Diverse
Inclusive / Diverse is the only concern these days. Very. Very sad. The strong candidate should always get the position.
Inclusive / Diverse policies are the ans legal way to discriminate against all peoples but mostly against white middle aged Americans, especially if are not a liberal.
Suggestions for improvement
- Campus Dining should come up with its own set of agendas instead of following Stanford Campus Dining program Google's dining program. Princeton University should be a leader and everything it does instead of a follower.

I used to like the work environment I have always liked the staff be at Union staff or mid-level management staff I built a lot of relationships throughout the years I made a lot of positive change for the Department of Campus Dining this is what I like about the company
