Teamwork

Most get along everyone once in a while gang members would come in.

Freedom to work independently

I worked trans side of it. I never had a boss for 5 months. Manager would yell at us for doing something wrong, but theyre was no one there that new how to do my job besides me.

Internal Communication

I never really had a boss and when i did theyd forget key parts. Never got job aids until 3 weeks after the fact and i was getting a write up cuz i was never informed.

Gender Equality

Simple. Theyre were enough different sexes to run a brothel... it was like a brothel.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Theyre were a few but not many. As ling as they knew how to work till they dropped they could stay.

Career Development

Depends how well you are liked. Not if your smart.

Overall compensation for your work

If you have a case theyll do anything to stay out of the light.

Office / Work Environment

It was always clean thanks to me. The ac units needed to be cleaned really badly, but trans was the ugly duckling of the warehouse.

Environmental Friendliness

Yes and no. We ran battery operated equipment but nothing more.

Work-Life Balance

Yes if ur liked. Otherwise 16 hr shifts for everyone. For a whole month we worked 7 days 12 hrs. Bcuz management had no idea what they were doin. But we made bank.

Job Security

In managements eyes everyone is a puzzle peice and if they cant figure out the puzzle theyll throw it away and buy a new one.
They dont like solving puzzles .

Challenging Work

Well when u get thrown into a bunch of reports its fun. When u figure all the reports are wrong and no one will fix it, its even "funner"

Inclusive / Diverse

Yes. But the mangement is changing again.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Actually care about your employees. Dont just ask whats wrong everyday. Actually fix their problens.

What I like about the company

Benefits.

What I dislike about the company

You have to know someone to get anywhere.

Teamwork

My department is the nail that sticks up gets hammered

Office / Work Environment

Very stressful place to work. The overload there employees throughout the plant

Work-Life Balance

No such thing!

Suggestions for improvement

  • Burnout is the most observed trait. High attrition for managers. Work life balance for all emoplyees needs to be a big topic for better productivity. Very lean on on staff and expect high productivity.

Company Culture

A lot of disgruntled employees due to all the changes and non appreciation of skill and experience.

Challenging Work

Yes, I have held positions that were very challenging and fulfilling. I have always functioned better under stress vs. ease of work. I need to be challenged.

Suggestions for improvement

  • They need to truly implement what they preach as their principles, purpose and values. They need to show respect for their valued employees/resources instead of always focusing on downsizing and fixing something that is not broken.

What I like about the company

Well respected thruout the world. Generally speaking, they used to value their employees more so than they do now.

What I dislike about the company

After 21 years of employment, I started being treated as a "number" vs. a valued assett and respected individual.

Company Culture

Descent, but declining at a very high rate

Support from management

Employee decision making is becoming a yhing of the past, micromanaged is here.

Teamwork

Team work is a Must from the workload from constant down staffing, management says it's not going to stop. They will continue to cut cost and the biggest cost is wages and benefits.

Freedom to work independently

Still trusted but less and less every quarter

Internal Communication

We do have quarterly meeting for company updates, used to be a lot of clapping and happy but moral is down so bad it's a thing of the past.

Gender Equality

Yes

Attitude towards older colleagues

Treated well but doesn't mind to give a push towards retirement

Career Development

Once agai, used to be good but depleating like everything else

Overall compensation for your work

Good pay but 8years ago they down graded track levels on core teams. Nice way of saying your getting a pay cut but with more work from minimizing staffing.

Office / Work Environment

Yes

Environmental Friendliness

Has its environmental team

Work-Life Balance

No peer pressure, but swing shift takes its tole on home life

Company Image

I am still proud to work there but it would have been 5 stars 8-10 years ago. Border line 3 stars but gave benefit of the doubt

Job Security

Always have been stable but as of late because of all the cost savings and different path the company is heading it is concerning how much longer before they layoff or shut down. They worry about $20 a day in staff per line but will spend $2,000 on a TV that never gets plugged in

Handicapped Accessibility

Yes

Workplace Safety

Very safety conscious but if you do have an accident most don't report because of all the paperwork and feedback if you get injured. Gotta keep the safety tir down at whatever cost. Preach safety but if there is an incident it is your fault it happened.

Challenging Work

P&G hires very competitive people, and use it to their advantage.

Inclusive / Diverse

LGBT shirts provided every month

Suggestions for improvement

  • Go back to what the original founders intended, treat the employees best because they are your success.

What I like about the company

Good pay but benefits are on a fast track decline. Retirement contribution was 15% 10 years ago, it's now 7%

What I dislike about the company

Steady work good pay

Suggestions for improvement

  • Make sure your upper management is in touch with family work life issues, especially if they don't have one.

What I like about the company

They give stock based of years of service and pay level for retirement. The stock pays dividends.. they offer flexible work hours / work from home 40%. There are offered employee discounts for items not made by P&G like computers / appliances..etc.

What I dislike about the company

the limits on diversify your retirement account.. getting your eggs out of one basket with a higher percentage.

Workplace Safety

Excellent safety training program.

Suggestions for improvement

  • They need more training. These are just kids straight out of college with an engineering degree. Some are lacking in interpersonal skills. They don't know how to manage people. They need training on how to do that. How to motivate, reward, etc.

What I like about the company

Great profit sharing

What I dislike about the company

In a whole I believe they are one of the premier employers but since they have dropped the percent of profit sharing, I don't think that they can attract the folks that will stay for their entire career. Other manufacturers in the vicinity pay more per hour and have good 401K plans.

  • 25.Feb 2017

Company Culture

Cutting positions or just not replacing people as they retire, but still want more work done

Support from management

Had 2 personal days to be used for emergency purpose, now have to schedule them like a vacation day or they will do it for you. How do you schedule emergencies?

Teamwork

Most teams support each other

Internal Communication

We are given the "We need to do more with less" speech quarterly as the top people get bigger bonuses

Gender Equality

They make the same money and usually do not get special treatment

Attitude towards older colleagues

Trying to get them out due to the fact that even though they have more experience, they make more money and get more profit sharing percentage wise.

Career Development

Doesn't matter if you have a college degree or high school diploma, if a position comes up, they find a way to get the person they want in the position no matter what

Overall compensation for your work

I feel comfortable for my pay and benefits, but I am in the first tier. The new hires are like a revolving door due to the lower pay and reduction in profit sharing

Work-Life Balance

We work 2 weeks of 12 hour days, then 2 weeks of 12 hour nights. Also expected to work overtime during these times . No consideration for family life outside of the company at all. They say they value family but only the office people are on a set schedule

Company Image

I was very proud to work for this company, then they started contracting out jobs and lowering the pay scale

Job Security

Have no idea if the doors could be shut tomorrow, they moved jobs to Mexico and are driving the worth of the company in the ground. Look at the stock alone. Not many splits or rise in the last 10 to 20 years

Challenging Work

I used to be proud to tell people where I worked, now I don't even tell people when they are hiring

Inclusive / Diverse

Has gone too far to be fair. Anyone who is a white person, and I don't mean that to be racial, has to be 3 to 4 times harder worker because they will not be equal in their treatment if it was a African american against a white person, even though we are all american no matter what your race is

Suggestions for improvement

  • They are in our department for about 4 years. In that 4 years they are expected to cut overtime, make changes that save money and make things easier. They get their bonus and move on, what they haven' taken into consideration is that most of the changes are just band aids and not actual fixes. As they eliminate positions, they get a coo does for a good job. When the next manager comes in, he or she is then expected to do the same thing. They are there for the short term, we get stuck with the long term affect or them asking why WE did this. Also, they have way too many managers for what they do. You can have 3 different managers who come by in a single day and ask you why you are not doing things like they told you t, when another had just told you to do it their way less than an hour ago

What I like about the company

That I am close enough to retire.

What I dislike about the company

They work people into the ground and swing shift, but don't understand why they can't keep new employees and why the older ones are so eager to leave

Company Culture

Terrible at this particular organization. Integrity is terrible. There are "groups" with their own agendas and they are often able to pursue those agendas successfully despite what is best for the entire organization or despite what corporate direction may be. Corporate management likely does not hear the truth as some of the worst leaders are championed by corporate.

Support from management

No. The priorities change frequently. It is follow the leader vs. follow the business goals as directed by corporate. The organization does not plan for change well (e.g. attrition) leaving gaps in knowledge and skills.

Teamwork

An unhealthy undercurrent with loss of integrity. There are a few "workers" and too many goofing off but not held accountable. Employees can stay for years as poor performers. New employees with drive to do the work often leave due to the barriers. There are pockets of areas in the organization with good teamwork, but in general it is not good.

Freedom to work independently

There is some level of autonomy in some of the work and some of the positions.

Internal Communication

A lot of useless meetings when corporate has clearly directed the company to not do this. A one-time event (VIP visit) can cause chaos for daily work and there are a lot of one-time events (lack of planning and lack of communication).

Attitude towards older colleagues

The older, experienced workers are not used as a resource nearly enough. Too late because attrition has removed that opportunity.

Career Development

Poor overall. Performance reviews are not done well or not at all and the work system is not understood or executed well.

Overall compensation for your work

Compensation very good in relation to comparable employers.

Office / Work Environment

The environment is good most of the time, but sometimes bathrooms shut down, temperature control is poor. The company recently made changes to contract services (e.g. AC) which has caused problems in the services provided. Long-time relationships with contractors had to be terminated to comply with the new way.

Environmental Friendliness

Some progress here.

Work-Life Balance

The company plans and benefits have improved tremendously for work-life balance. There is still pressure to get the work done. Organization is not healthy enough to deliver consistency when some employees are away from work for leave. Employees who are away from work - often have fear of reaction of co-workers because they are gone and causing extra work for others.

Company Image

Corporately, has a good image. Locally, not as good. Company rarely gets involved in the the local community events citing company values, yet micro-groups get involved in small events to further their agendas.

Job Security

It is a corporate world-wide company so if the local organization fails, there is likely transfer or fair exit opportunities.

Challenging Work

Definitely challenging, but the results have struggled in past few years so - proud - no.

Inclusive / Diverse

There are diversity values, diversity training and diversity teams/groups. Is everyone respected - resounding no.

What I like about the company

Benefits, pay and corporate direction
