What I like

I have belts a steady relationship with my coworkers and patients. I feel as if I excel at my job

What I dislike

PTO is garbage there all of your hours are combined in one pool which are used for vacation sick time and holidays which we do not get enough of

Suggestions for improvement

I would take out the politics of this business I would give people a fair amount of PTO time and I would be less selfish

I love my unit, but hospital administrators are disconnected and focused on profit instead of patients or staff.

EmployeeWorked at Providence Health & Services-Washington in Spokane, WA at the time of review.

What I like

We are the facility with the highest level of care in the region.

What I dislike

Administration, particularly that in Renton, is disconnected and needs to be reminded that patients and employees are people, not means to revenue.

Suggestions for improvement

More input from floor staff in regards to policy and procedures.

Environmental Friendliness

They don’t recycle, although a couple of years ago they did switch to medication disposal units, instead of wasting in the sink.

Workplace Safety

Are making slight attempts to combat violence against caregivers, but not nearly enough

Support from management

I receive support from my unit manager, but there is a huge gap between administration and the floor staff.

What I like

Good team environment, good amount of training, emphasis on safety and just culture, emphasis on trauma informed care, lots of communication and debriefing (employees are always in the know), lots of education and professional development opportunities.

What I dislike

“Cost-saving” strategies that make employees’ lives more complicated or difficult

Suggestions for improvement

I would have the administration send out a survey to all staff before making any major changes

Company Culture

We work well as a team and are very supportive of each other. However, it’s tough not to get burned out when you’re working in healthcare.

What I like

haven't had any yet in the last 7 years at this company

What I dislike

IN healthcare if you earn less than the average worker in your community this is a serious issue but to then say you can't afford to pay workers more than turn around and give senior leadership 10+ million dollar bonuses you are missing what actually makes your company run.

Suggestions for improvement

Increase worker pay and better health benefits
