Support from management
Management expresses expectations clearly but does not provide guidance or sufficient training on how to reach objectives. Example: objective is "make yourself a leader in each project team you are assigned", but no direction provided in how to integrate the project team which generally are not clear on your role.
Teamwork among staff; including inter-disciplinary, is good.
Freedom to work independently
From what I observed during 17-month assignment, workload is distributed fairly.
Very true for company-wide communications. More spotty on an operating group - by operating group basis; more dependent on individual manager's style.
Women are in positions of authority in equal proportion to men.
There are formal paths to advancement available to all.

Compensation packages are competitive and comparable to similar large organizations.

Corporate Management ensures physical environment is agreeable and that required resources to perform jobs, are provided.
Company is sensitive to social /political / environmental issues.
Company respects individuals private life to a reasonable extent.
Company is sound and forecast for demand for talent is strong.
By nature of being an electric utility business, company stresses safety in its everyday operations and in its expectations of contractors working on job sites.
The nature of the work is such that you can feel that what you do, matters for the greater good.

What I like about the company
Felt good to be contributing to the general good by supporting electric utility reliability. Pay was fair. There was an element of prestige in being associated with this institution.
What I dislike about the company
No comment because this has to do with my manager's behavior and the manner of my termination.
