Political (D) and Union centric mentality determined to live down to the stereotype; only working within your job description.
Support from management
No upward mobility unless you know someone or you are Black or Latino. Don't speak unless spoken to, if you are white. You are only there to satisfy the minimally required employed percentage.
The employees are great except for the ones pre-occupied with being racist toward whites. Good cross-training to cover when people are out.
Freedom to work independently
Out-dated hardware and software.
Favoritism towards every race except whites is very evident.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The State government regards older colleagues with contempt. They do not like to pay people for loyalty and commitment, the State would prefer to cycle them out because older colleagues tend to have higher wages.
You are welcome to go continue your education, but unless you are a minority, it will not be of any benefit.
Office / Work Environment
Over-achievers are regarded with contempt by the workers that have been there a while.
Inclusive / Diverse
Inclusive and diverse to every race except whites; they are maintained at the minimum percentage level, and are the first excluded from promotion consideration.
Suggestions for improvement
- Remove the Union and the employees in Union leader roles; they pollute the entire work environment.
What I like about the company
The many great workers; a majority of which are disgusted with the Union and its politics. The only the ones not disgusted with the Union are the ones involved in the Union leader roles.
What I dislike about the company
A culture foolishly pre-occupied with racism and politics; it is so unfortunate and distracting.
