The top leadership is clueless about direction. They are detached from the various locations yet are in constant conference calls. Their approach and action plans are never well thought out or simplified. There is a great deal of redundant operational and time consuming labor that really results in nothing being accomplished. In my own case, I witnessed 8 highly paid emoyees patient results entry and release idled for 2 full weeks.
You have a certain autonomy, but that is as much the nature of the job, not the culture of the company.
