Unprofessional outbursts in public work area by local HR distracting and humiliating to employees being publicly humiliated.
Support from management
Very little support is provided and your immediate supervisors never have your back. You become a target if you complain. Local HR is unbalanced and clicky.
A lot of clicks because the firm is comprised from the buyout of smaller, firms that may have been suffering financially.
Freedom to work independently
Workload is not balanced well, resulting in having to work late.
Company informs others of trial victories. Departments are separated and gossiping is prevelant.
Attorneys have similar career opportunities depending on who they know. Very clicky.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Seniors are not hired. Hard work is not appreciated.
Overall compensation for your work
Their bonus is better than their salary. Review bonuses don't match performance reviews.
Office / Work Environment
The older building smells like sewage. Zero ventilation. It's either way too cold or extremely warm.
The company does not recycle. They are not a paperless company.
You cannot take vacations whenever you want. They must be pre-approved and you must have earned the time. Depending on the department, you may have to work overtime; and it must be pre-approved.
Employees are disgruntled and do not speak fondly of company or local, management.
You are just a number, and can be eliminated if your supervisor doesn't like you and is good with the department attorney.
The company does provide disabled individuals accessibility within its strucure.
The sewage smell cannot be to code. No cameras within or outside building to record violations. Employees have fallen from stairwell. The elevator gets stuck.
I always feel a sense of accomplishment. You are sometimes noticed for doing a good job.
Inclusive / Diverse
The company does not promote diversity. Many Latin employees but very few other ethnic groups. You do your work as prescribed by the employer's clients.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get rid of the local HR and Managing group. The hiring local HR is grossly unprofessional.

The way the business was originally started.
What I dislike about the company
They say they advocate to an open door policy, but you are marked when you make constructive criticism or matter factly state shortcomings within the department.
