What employees say

Employees like

I have worked for the company for 27 years. I have made great friends and learned alot about the industry. I would love to retire from the company but they are moving the site I work at so it will be to far to continue with the company.
When I first started it was really great we were a family. The persinal time off is the best I have ever had working anywhere. The people are great to work with. The pay is also pretty good.
It’s is coach rich environment. It means we are always being evaluated and being coached on ways to improve our skills. All done in a positive attitude.
For lunch there restaurants that are there for you to choose from if you didn't bring lunch . The managers treat there employees right and is flexible About your schedule.
Great culture. Many of my co-workers have been with company 15 plus years. Plenty of opportunities for growth. Open and honest leadership.

Employees don't like

The way that we are no longer family and just a number
I feel that the navigation system needs updating and better software for accommodating the amount of calls we received on a daily basis. In addition, providing more training and education on the particular products sold would benefit the customer as well as the sales experience for them. Many times there would be questions we as employees were not equipped to answer with the information provided to us. On that note, the rate at which information was updated in the ordering ...
The biggest issue I had was that we were told everything is numbers driven. In other words performance was the major reason for decision. Then suddenly an independent company evaluated the situation and decided that our call center should be closed down. Mind you we had out preformed the other two centers consistently. We also hadn’t been closed down due to weather conditions as frequently as the othwr two in the past five years.
Communication is far from perfect. Dividing line of dept responsibilities is too blurry for comfort. Building improvements happening where unneeded and not happening where they are - at least not timely.
Don't like the way time off is done. Would rather be able to give notice that I won't be there instead of having to call when I know I have sm appointment.

Suggestions for improvement

Make it better and make it so that there is room to grow
Work and life balance is a big thing. No one wants to work 10.5 hours and be forced to work a "required" period every month. People need time for themselves, to stay healthy and not over exert themselves. That's how injuries occur. Nothing is wrong with 8 hour days, that's normal and leads to a healthy life style. It also leaves it to having less injuries. Stop putting too much pressure on getting "numbers" because that leads to mistakes and ...
Update the policies so that working from home is available to all employees. Also provide options for flexible hours. We have many team members working over-seas so we shouldn't be expected to always work a standard 9-5 schedule on top of the extra hours to make those meetings with international teams.
More opportunities to work remotely, the chance to negotiate a salary (some positions have a locked salary that is standard to all employees in that role, regardless of performance).
To care more about the employees and give them the proper tools to work effectly. Make better quality products. Have it about quality not quantity.

Worst rated: Job Security

The worst rated factor of QVC is Job Security with 3.1 points (based on 7 reviews).

Point system is extremely unfair. 10 points and your gone. 2 points for every time you call out. 4 points for no call no show. So you can rack these up pretty fast.
My job is stable but they are r ed relocating the plant so will be out of a job in the next year
Always about numbers
None, you reach 10 points or don't reach your AHT you're fired.
Now that we are beholden to shareholders the liklihood of retiring there is very small. Cost cutting culls out those with tenure and who have dedicated their life to growing the company. It's sad actually.

Career Development

Career Development rating

Career Development is rated with an average of 3.2 points (based on 7 reviews).

Not really much room for growth with in the company
If you’re part of the in crowd, there are plenty of opportunities. If you’re not, you’ll be stuck doing the same thing without any development or coaching.
No room to move up or improve unless you know someone high up in corporate Pennsylvania.
There was no room for any upward movement.
You have a chance to have opening in other potions.
