Company Culture

Untrustworthy staff and administration. No confidentiality between staff and administrator. Unfair favoring of staff causing tension.

Support from management

Administrator did not assess situations professionally. Administrator would let problems get out of hand before intervening. Administrator favor other employees that caused issues for other employees and made them feel uncomfortable to be working the same shift.

Teamwork

Employees made others feel lesser while on same shift. Other employees would sit in the medication administration room whole shift while other staff did most of the work for the shift.

Freedom to work independently

The workload is not fairly distributed between staff. Usually one staff was relied on doing most of the work while the other did minimal.

Gender Equality

This job is only for women. They will not hire men unless it is for a cook position.

Attitude towards older colleagues

The senior women who have been with the company for many years are still there. They mostly hire women who are very young.

Career Development

There are no higher positions or future advancements. You start as and aide and move up to a med aide. If you have a friendship with the administrator you will move up to lead aide faster.

Overall compensation for your work

For the work this job involves, $9.00/hr would be worth it. Minimum wage for pulling your back out is not worth it. Especially for no benefits being offered.

Work-Life Balance

40 hours full time. No over time. Vacation days after a year but no more than days worked.

Company Image

I have heard mostly negative talk about the company from new and seasoned staff. Personal experience says that most of the negative comments are true.

Handicapped Accessibility

There are two floors. Neither of the floors have elevator access or ramps. Only ramps are to the dining room and to exit the building. This job does not hire anyone that has a handicap due to no light duty.
