Company Culture

There's a great diversity of people who work within our company

Support from management

Management doesn't communicate.

Teamwork

Lower employees work well together. However uppermanagement and office personell often work against each other for the most part.

Freedom to work independently

Employees often work in consumers homes and are out in the community. We have to trust that they will show up when and where they are supposed to be.

Internal Communication

Communication is lacking with this company. No one knows what's going on until the last minute and it's annoying.

Gender Equality

Most of the staff is women.

Attitude towards older colleagues

We have older staff who have been with us for 25 years or more.

Career Development

Unless you're brown nosing theree's no potential to move up in the company.

The enviornment in the office is tense sometimes.

Way to much paperwork when there's computers available to input information and data.

The job is very flexible however, it's also very demanding. It can be complicated if you have children and a family.

There are times when I like it and times when I hate it.

It's very stressful and busy at times.

Diversity is awesome in our company.

Suggestions for improvement

  • We need new uppermanagement, a new ed, new HR as the HR doesn't know how to do her job properly.I'd also show more recgonition for those who do all the grunt work and who dedicate so much time to the company.

What I like about the company

The team of managers I work with are completely amazing, understanding and they've became more of family then just co-workers or frieneds. They will help in the office and outside the office no matter what the situation maybe.

What I dislike about the company

The company really needs to focus on giving a raise to all employees in the office and out in the field. We have a high turnover rate simply because everyones pay is so low. Even if they raised pay 2-3 dollars I'm sure it would make a huge difference in the turnover rate.

We can work really well together as long as everyone understands that we are a team.

The company does stress to work together with your coworkers so that the clients will have access to stability and continuity.

The trust is there however there should be monitoring in certain circumstances.

Could be more appealing if there were incentives because employees do feel that the company should offer things to show their appreciation for the services we provide for the company.

The company is very diverse. Hires employees of different ethnicities, gender, age, etc...doesn't discriminate.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Opportunities are not really offered to anyone unless there is some sort of changes took place and there is a need. But most of the older ones are probably content with their position. But there should be raises that mirror the amount of time and experience the older workers have with the company.

There are some prospects for growth, there just are not many.

Overall compensation for your work

Compensation is not fair. I have worked for the company for 10+ years and I made the same as the new hires. That's not right. Salaries should reflect the years with the company as well as the amount of experience an employee has worked in the field.

Office / Work Environment

The work environment is what staff makes it. We make the homes in which we work what it is. The office is welcoming as well.

Work-Life Balance

The only thing I would recommend is return to flexibility. A lot of people work twelve hours shifts and if those are the only type of hours offered, a lot of people may not be able to work those hours. And also add some PRN people that are trained at each home and therefore are able to fill in for staff when necessary.

There are some issues that can be improved. I would say that I work there.

I feel that my position is stable because I do everything that I can to ensure that my clients needs are met.

Handicapped Accessibility

Yes for the most part it is handicap accessible. And it is also their responsibility to make sure that the homes in which the clients live is suitable for their specific needs.

The work environment is safe if the employees follow the proper procedures.

There are some challenges however not impossibilities.

Inclusive / Diverse

Sometimes employee ideas are implemented however there is no acknowledgement of the employee for the idea. It's nice to see that your idea was used but it seems as if the employers are taking the credit for it.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Let potential office staff know what they are expected to do because most are not equipped to handle the situations that arise. Give staff incentives to help them want to continue working. The moral is very low because there is so much turnaround in the office its hard to keep track of who is your supervisor.

What I like about the company

The company has recognized me for employee of the month. I was nominated for caregiver of the year, received Christmas cards,and there have been parties and special events for the clients,staff, and their families. I get a lot of accalades for the attention I give to my clients and my position. Overall a good experience with the company.

What I dislike about the company

Listen to staff. They work with the clients therefore they are more knowledgeable about their needs. And compensate the employees for their hard work and dedication to the company.

Company Culture

Some of the employees are all about working as a team and have good attitudes but others have bad attitudes and you can tell they only have the job for the paycheck.

Teamwork

They encourage you to do so but if an employee doesnt like another employee, they will make it hard on that person to work.

Freedom to work independently

Several houses were single staffed homes.

Internal Communication

If a staff member had a problem with another employee, instead of talking to that employee to work things out they would gossip behind their back or tell supervisors a half truth of the situation.

Overall compensation for your work

The employees do not make enough money for the work they are doing.

Office / Work Environment

I worked in waiver homes and there were maintenance workers that worked for the company so if something within the home needed to be fixed, they would make it priority depending on how serious it was.

Work-Life Balance

It is hard to get a shift covered if you need to take a day off because you are sick or have an appointment or an emergency happens.

Company Image

Some days are better than others but if you are having issues within the company, or with another staff member, they don't make it a priority to fix the problem or address it in a timely manner.

Challenging Work

It was emotionally and physically demanding most of the time. It takes someone with a strong caring heart to do the type of work I did.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would give new employees more than two in-home training days. Before assigning them to one specific home I would schedule them at two to three different homes that have different types of clients. This would be more beneficial in keeping the employees at the company. They have such a high turnover rate because the job isnt what the employee thought it would be in the beginning.

What I like about the company

The job itself is very rewarding. Seeing the excitement on the clients faces when you do something for them is wonderful. Most of the staff in the houses help make you comfortable and it is fun working together to make the clients lives better. At the end of the shift you feel accomplished and couldn't imagine being at a different job.

What I dislike about the company

If there is an issue within the home, a staff member causing problems or a client making the job uncomfortable, it doesnt get resolved right away. The hours can be exhausting. Sometimes the next shift doesn't show up on time or at all so you may get stuck working longer hours or working a double shift. You are required to do physical work, (i.e. lifting clients, housekeeping, assisting with showers, bending over to change briefs or clothes). They will not let you work if you refuse to do any of these.
