New management in place, still trying to find their niche. Staff is very clique-y and not very welcoming.

What I like

As a traveler, we do not have many benefits or perks but the increase in pay is supposed to compensate for the lack thereof.

What I dislike

Management plays favorites and it’s obvious. Not much on-going training offered for contract staff.

Suggestions for improvement

Hire new management that respects the boundaries between friendship and the work relationships.

What I like

Most nursing staff and low level employees are friendly and appreciative of all you do to help.

What I dislike

Upper management has a pattern of not following their own protocol and procedures unless it suits them.

Suggestions for improvement

To have as more open-minded view when staff have thoughts on how to improve on how somethings being approached or done in order for things to run smoother and w/o so much confusion and stress for all involved.

What I like

I loved working for Research. I worked in the ICU and loved my co workers. Would recommend this to someone who really wants to learn

What I dislike

The company is a for profit company, they really need to invest more in there employee's

Suggestions for improvement

More security and a safer parking garage for the employee's

Company Culture

Most of the people that work there are friendly and helpful. Just located in a really bad part of town

What I like

There was lots of opportunity to have say in the future and learn new things as long as you were willing to make the effort.

What I dislike

Staffing levels are generally low in the lab. Finding and keeping good employees should be a high focus. There is lots of opportunity to move employees that consistently do not show up for work or that are no longer competent to do the job.

Suggestions for improvement

Working on the perception of the department. Providing more opportunity for the good parts of the department to be seen.

Research Medical Center is a great place to experience diverse patient care. Fast paced.

C-Suite / LeadershipWorked in Administration at Research Medical center at the time of review.

What I like

This is a great hospital to learn how to take care of the sickest patients. The nursing staff are incredible and have each other’s backs. I would say as a staff nurse, wages are pretty good. I love the fast pace and exciting environment that Research provides.

What I dislike

I disapprove of the wages for management. The cost of the cafeteria food is outrageous and it doesn’t taste very good.

Suggestions for improvement

I feel like the hospital would be improved if the union would go away. The culture for the nurses is great. The culture for the leadership team is miserable. There are too many Sr Leaders and other leaders that try to micro manage everything, keeping processes in chaos and never solving anything.

Work-Life Balance

Work life balance for employee nurses is amazing. Work life balance for the leadership team is more cumbersome.

Workplace Safety

More and more patients/family members becoming aggressive and violent.

Internal Communication

There is a lack of trust within the leadership team.

Freedom to work independently

There is a lot of micromanaging.

What I like

Good benefits compared to others. Management is involved and cares.

What I dislike

Pay is low compared to others. PTO is limited and is taken automatically if you don’t meet 80 hrs

Suggestions for improvement

Improve pay with higher raises, current raises are 2% and do not cover cost of inflation. More PTO.

Company Culture

Great rehab team

Environmental Friendliness

No recycling
