Support from management
Our goals and targets are realistic, and we usually achieve them.
We do have quarterly meetings to disguss our results. We also have weekly meetings within our team to discuss our goals.
Women have opportunities here. More women work here than men. Women do get promoted here.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I think senior workers are being hired, but I don't think many get promoted.
On the surface the training looks good for development, but you don't truly develop or get promoted unless you are part of a click. I have seen some good honest promotions. I have also seen people get promoted without ever interviewing for anything. I have seen people get all kinds of opportunites thrown there way, while others are pushed off to the side.
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries are always paid on time. Salaries are above average for customer service, but management is over paid. The work force would have have better salaries if the money was spread around more fairly. Our benefits are expensive for being a Medical manufacturer. Our annual raises have shrunk to 1%. Our bonuses have gone from Quarterly and yearly, to yearly only.
I think our image is good
We have had layoffs every year since Philips bought us. We have heard rumors for years that they will eventually eliminate us. They already have other customer service locations in other states.
It still makes me feel happy when I go out and it helps a customer.
Suggestions for improvement
What I like about the company
The easy 20-25 minute commute.
What I dislike about the company
I realize that many employers are politically driven, but this organization is very politically driven. It can be very hard to crack that inner circle here. It's discouraging to watch certain people get promoted without interviewing, while others are rejected over and over again.
