Company Culture

The culture that's portrayed is a complete fabrication, they sell employees on a fun and hip environment where everyone's ideas are heard and team work is #1. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is the employees are overworked and spread thin, there's not support from management, and ridiculous rules are constantly being doled out that make it harder to do the job at hand. The employees end up caring more about the company than management does, and this leads to everyone being unhappy and eventually leaving. By the time I left there were only a handful of the same people working there....the smart ones don't stay past 6 months.

Support from management

The management teams main objective is to avoid being screamed at by the CEO. If that means their employees have to suffer, then so be it. And the employees do suffer regularly.

Teamwork

Within each department the employees work well together, but every department is separated into different areas and do not have access to other areas, so there is no teamwork across departments. You are not allowed to even call other departments, and there is no employee directory so you aren't able to call anyone's personal line either.

Freedom to work independently

You are not trusted to work independently, you're not even trusted to go to the bathroom without punching a time clock. Yes, you have to punch out when you have to go to the rest room and then punch back in. And if you forget to do this you could be fired. You are not trusted what so ever, no one is, and there is constant surveillance in every area of the office so you are watched every second. No trust.

Internal Communication

There is no communication, very little is passed down unless it is a new rule that makes your job harder. I may sound disgruntled, but these are actually just the facts. Communication gets a 0.

Gender Equality

Women are not treated equally, men are paid more to do the same job and to not do it as well. During my time there, a well respected high achiever was replaced by a male which caused her to leave, and they paid him more to do her job.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Older employees are hired regularly, even though management and training staff talk negatively behind their backs, saying things like, "They aren't going to make it, they can't cut it here, this is too fast paced for them to understand".

Career Development

They do not develop the employees, and the only time they promote from within is when they see someone that is a "Yes man", someone who goes along with whatever crazy request is handed down and never says no.

Overall compensation for your work

I was fairly compensated, but the benefits were horrible, and as I hear still are.

Office / Work Environment

I'm giving 2 stars because it is the cleanest office I've ever been in and the snack machine is great. That's really where the perks end though. It's always freezing cold, the CRM is not adequate and the rights you need to use it aren't given as needed, they pump aroma therapy through the air vents that makes everyone's allergies go crazy, there's no fridge and you aren't allowed to have food delivered (even in the parking lot), chairs are broken and it takes an act of congress to receive a new one, and when the computers have issues the IT person is not nice and belittles you as he fixes it.

Environmental Friendliness

I think there is 1 recycling bin in the lounge.

Work-Life Balance

Everyone is expected to work 45 hours/week or more, which is hard when you have a family and children. There is intense pressure to complete a large amount of work so many weeks I worked far over the base 45 hours. Leaving when kids were sick or emergencies happened was an issue and HR was not flexible with non-scheduled PTO hours.

Company Image

No, I was not proud. The customers hated this company and usually had very little to say that was positive. After working there for a few months it became very clear as to why.

Job Security

The CEO threatened to fire all of us multiple times a week. There was no stability.

Handicapped Accessibility

In order to be admitted into the entrance and into your work area you had to use eye scanners that were mounted on the walls, about 5'5 feet up. Someone of short stature under 5 feet could not have used the scanners.

Workplace Safety

I never received any safety training, and observed more than 1 accident within the office. The floors were wet on one occasion and not marked, a woman slipped and hurt her leg, she had to wear a cast for a while. The chairs were not safe and caused many people back pain.

Challenging Work

The work was not challenging but the customers were hostile and the CEO was constantly making new demands that were unattainable. I continually produced great work but it was not recognized and was never good enough.

Inclusive / Diverse

The only ideas or opinions that matter are that of the CEO. All others are not heard.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Either get a new CEO or convince the CEO to let go and let the company grow. That is the only reason this business isn't 3x the size, really sad.

What I like about the company

The employees are great and really care about the business.

What I dislike about the company

The management team and CEO do not care about the business and don't care about the employees.
