Suggestions for improvement
- Improve pay for teachers and other staff
It’s like a family - we may disagree on the “how”, but we all have the same goals - to provide a quality education to ALL children. I grew up attending this district so I got to know it really well from a student perspective before becoming an employee. This district really cares about its kids.
Just some principals just don’t know how to motivate without overly criticizing their teachers or take a combative instead of collaborative mindset. They have closed personalities that make it hard to communicate with them. Thankfully my current principal is NOT like that, but some are. I think more training in this area - or mandatory stress management counseling should be provided to administrators.
It is a good District for students.
I feel there are too many cooks in the kitchen. They keep giving us more and more to do, thus causing a poor work/life balance. The health insurance is horrible and the premiums keep increasing. We are not treated with respect. They are having "stay interviews" at each school, but will things change? I'm doubtful.
