Review of River Edge - Milledgeville, GA

Company Culture

1, on a scale of 1-10

Teamwork

In my department, we all worked together, but, other departments didn't work with us to help us, even though we helped them when they were in need.

Freedom to work independently

I was, at first, but when management changed, I was micromanaged, and it made me feel suffocated.

Internal Communication

It depends. Sometimes, they give you the information. Other times, they just expect you to know what they know, even though they haven't disseminated the information.

Gender Equality

I think they are. Everyone is way overworked and way underpaid, no matter the gender.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Yes. They are hired. I don't know if they are appreciated, but they are mostly supported.

Career Development

Opportunities are available, but a lot of times, people will say they are going to help you, and they never follow-up with you.

Overall compensation for your work

If I could give it a 0, I would. Work responsibilities far exceed compensation levels. Salary is nothing compared to surrounding areas.

Office / Work Environment

I loved the office in which I worked, although it could have been situated in a better location.

Environmental Friendliness

Not that I am aware of.

Company Image

I used to be, but I stopped feeling proud a long time ago.

Job Security

Jobs are fairly stable, but employees get threatened with losing their jobs, as they add on more responsibility, with no increase in pay, and no help from coworkers. There have been many threats about positions being eliminated. Some have already been eliminated.

Handicapped Accessibility

The building is fairly accessible to handicapped individuals, and the agency serves such individuals on a daily basis.

Workplace Safety

Safety training is provided. The environment is generally safe, but you don't really know how violent/psychotic someone can be, until you are actually face-to-face with the person, unless a family member or friend is available to give you a history.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Learn how to treat and pay people fairly, so you can have long-term employees.

What I like about the company

The teamwork and relationship that I have with my coworkers.

What I dislike about the company

The pay; the favoritism; too many managers over the same people; too many directives; the bottom line is always money; too many responsibilities for employees, with no extra pay; staffing is always short, so you have to do everyone else's job, but they don't do yours, if you're out; the criticisms you get, while your accomplishments go unnoticed
