Suggestions for improvement
- Some positions in the organization have better benefits than others. For example, some full-time salary employees have built in vacation days for certain times of the year and can't use them other times of the year. These same employees do not get paid FMLA, but other full-time salary employees in different divisions do have the paid time off. I might be understanding this incorrectly, but that is how it was explained to me.
What I like about the company
If you enjoy helping people who really need it, then this is a great place to work. The members and the staff are wonderful and interesting people. I am, admittedly, a people person but it's okay because I think everyone here is. It's contagious.
What I dislike about the company
As it is with working for a non-profit, there are certain things that you just have to accept. The pay is not always as great as it would be for the same position at a different company. However, I am happy here. I'm fine with making slightly less in exchange for working in a positive environment, doing something I can feel good about, and serving people who really need it.
