The company culture is sell more or well threaten your job.
Support from management
There is none. Good luck getting anyone to communicate in a timely fashion.
We were not allowed to work together. Period.
Freedom to work independently
You're allowed to work independently all of the time. They will track you by GPS. They will call you out in front of everyone asking why you haven't done something or been to a part of your territory. They will ask for proof that a job was done.
This is the first company I have worked for who called up the entire east coast sales team, cursed them out, threatened their jobs, and then finished the call by telling everyone to be an adult.
The men where yelled at just as frequently and as brutally as the men.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There aren't any because they come down even harder on people who have been with the company a while because, "they should know better."
They do not want you to gain knowledge or experiences that could lead to you advancing with the company. This is a job not a career.
Overall compensation for your work
Made a lot less than competition.
Office / Work Environment
Your work environment is so hostile that employees band together over the latest hostile encounter.
The bottler, Rockstar, is far from friendly to the employees.
The distributor, doesn't care at all about order the product, delivering the product, or supporting the product.
Customers fight tooth an nail against the product.
You must maintain equipment, off the clock. Order materials, off the clock. Send weekly communication to your team, off the clock. If you are working in a part of your territory that is 3 hrs away, yes it happens regularly, you must clock in and out there. No exceptions.
They give off a party boy image. Not professional in the least.
Job was threatened quite frequently. Even told that we were all veterans at this point, and that if anyone in the zone wouldn't do our job properly we would not be warned, just fired.
There is a lot of lifting and getting in and out of a van all day.
This is 100% what you make it. Go into a bad part of town? Lift more than you're capable? Drive safely?
This is extremely challenging.
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire everyone at that top who isn't qualified. Anyone the owner knew in college and has no right being in the position that they hold.
