Support from management
Management is completely disconnected from staff. Staff is always asked for input but there is no follow through. The whole organization is reactive not proactive. The only time change is implemented is when something goes wrong even if the situation is brought to management.
The rules are not applied evenly across the board.
This was the only place I ever worked where cross training was NOT encouraged. In fact, we were told that cross training was no longer being allowed.
Overall compensation for your work
Lowest pay in the industry in the area. It was so bad that they started giving a percentage increase every year to try to get to the midpoint nationally. After 3 years I was still well below the median range.
Suggestions for improvement
- Management needs to get into the day to day operations and see what the staff is up against. They need to stop listening to a select few.
What I like about the company
The only good thing I can say is that the coworkers are amazing. We are all fighting to give patients quality care despite the challenges from management.
What I dislike about the company
Poor pay, understaffing and difficult management. Employees are always getting conflicting messages. On 1 hand, we are told that patient care is first and then on the other hand they are hammering us about watching the bottom line.
