It's a diversified working environment and everyone is doing their best to accommodate everyone's needs.
Support from management
It's a one way communication and senior levels have voices that New ones.
On the average yes, but there are some old employees which they felt insecure with the new ones that they will deliverately/silently do something to put you in trouble to make them look as if they are the only trusted one who can do the job right.
Freedom to work independently
Yes, I have been in the healthcare for 25 years and you just have to add their what the company requires you to do but old employees are the problem, due to their insecurities they will deliberately do something behind your back to put you in trouble to make it looks like they are the only trusted person who can do the right job.
We are updated to what the company is going on but it's not a two way communications.
Direct patient care, specially nursing, are more dominated by female, but we treat each other fairly.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I'm considered older worker, where no one else would hire me, this company did. Some of the senior ones who have been there in the company for a while are the trouble makers to the new ones so they can show to the management that they are the only ones who can do it right.
It's one of the best benefits of this company. There's tuition reimbursement for everyone who are full time and part time employees.
Overall compensation for your work
This is one sad aspects of this company, the compensation is too low compared to other healthcare industries around New Jersey.
Office / Work Environment
We are in the process of moving to a new building so what we have right now is not very ideal. There's a HIPPA violations where if one physician discussed the condition of one patient, the other patient who is the roommate with gusts can hear everything. Not enough room and computer to work with.
Since it's a healthcare industry, they are very aware of keeping the environment safe and clean.
In our department, yes, our manager don't give you a hard time if your family needs you, but when it comes to getting the holidays off, seniority always comes first. If they wanted an off on your requested off, you have to find another time because seniority wise, they will get it.
It's the biggest healthcare provider in New Jersey, and as the biggest one it's been mandatory to all employees that we practice again the very basics of human relationship which we almost forgotten. Compassionate Care, and I'm proud of it.
With our unstable economy, employers will do everything to survive, so there will never be a guarantee of security not until our economy is stable enough.
Yes, we are in the healthcare and we take this very seriously. We have the services necessary to almost all people with disabilities.
Yes, we have trainings.
In healthcare industry, specially when you are assigned in direct patient care, you touch the lives of every human soul, so it's always good to have the right kind of heart to get the best result. I believed health care is one of the proudest job you can have, and I always make sure that I executed it to the best I can and with every smile that the patient have to me, I know they got the best and I'm proud of it.
Suggestions for improvement
- Management should come down unannounce and try to talk to group of employees without being pressured and hear from them directly how to improve their department without the presence of the manager or director.
What I like about the company
It become a mandatory to all employees to practice the very basics of human relantionship. Practicing health care with compassion. The benefits are good since it's a big company.
What I dislike about the company
The compensation of those who are in direct patient care is too low no matter how many years of experience you have.
