I love my job, but I'm not sure I will still be here in the next couple years. Hopefully things change, and I will stay.

Company Culture

Company Culture to me means we should all feel valued. I don't really feel that.

Overall compensation for your work

We are all severely underpaid compared to others in the same field. No matter what experience, credentials, or degrees you have, expect to start at the lowest possible wage. Raises are few and far between.Considering we work for pretty much the only healthcare system in the area, the cost of the health insurance is deplorable,

Office / Work Environment

A lot of the time the AC is stuck on, even in the dead of winter, and we are told there is no way to fix it, so we have to wear winter jackets, gloves, and hats to try to stay warm. Makes it hard to work.

Work-Life Balance

They say they promote work life balance, but I have only had a single one week vacation since i started working here 3 years ago. It's almost impossible to get vacation time because other employees in the same dept put in for time off, and only 4 are allowed off at the same time. So some people get several weeks off every year, the rest of us get none.

Challenging Work

Work is challenging, but I love it.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would give fair wages and lower the cost of the health insurance.

What I like about the company

I have great coworkers, and the cafeteria food isn't too bad.

What I dislike about the company

They need to pay at least a fair wage compared to what others pay. The health insurance for families is way too expensive, many employees don't even have it because pay is so low, they qualify for food stamps and OHP. It would be great if we could get vacation time when requested. Why is it that veteran employees can take several weeks off a year and the rest of us don't even get 1 week off? Because the veteran employees know the exact start date to request time off every year, and fill all the slots in one day. The rest of us just get denied repeatedly. There is no work life balance here, only work.
