I have enjoyed working for this company and have received compensation better than others for time off, insurance, etc.

What I like

I have enjoyed the people I work with and the patient interaction on a daily basis. My manager works hard to make good changes for our department like a new building, new gym equipment in our PT office and a shift in the pay rate categories so capped out employees can be compensated again. All departments work well together with laundry orders, supply orders, IT issues and maintenance issues. I enjoy the extra benefits of Christmas and birthday coupons for our gift store and cafeteria. I am thankful for the employee discounts we receive in our company as well as with other vendors like on my phone bill.

What I dislike

I don't know that I disapprove of much except that when we talk about ways to cut spending they are not looking at the cost of office equipment that is outrageously priced for computer accessories and office chairs.

Suggestions for improvement

I would like the president and executives to visit our smaller office to talk with us periodically. There are so many small offices and satellite offices that need to feel heard and for the most part their managers do a great job listening and relaying thoughts and ideas.

Company Culture

We are all very aware of company culture and make every effort to let each know they are heard and cared for

Career Development

They are BIG on growth opportunities and helping people step up

Overall compensation for your work

I make more an hour for this employer than any in the past

Teamwork

Team STEPPS

Challenging Work

Not as challenging as other jobs I have had

Internal Communication

They have put plans in place to recognize employees and make sure they are heard

C-Suite / LeadershipWorked in Administration at Samaritan-Keep Nursing Home, Inc. in Watertown, NY at the time of review.

What I like

I have moved up in just the last few. Very stable work with little to no chance of being laid off.

What I dislike

Higher salary for the top positions so the company is in line with other companies in the same field.

Suggestions for improvement

Lighting in the offices could be better. Very bright and actually hurts my eyes after a long day.

Company Culture

Everyone gets a good salary and gets paid on time. In the local job market this should be all people are concerned with.

Company Image

yes

Work-Life Balance

Good at this over all

Career Development

I have moved up a few levels since starting to work here.

Handicapped Accessibility

Required by law

Overall compensation for your work

A little low

Inclusive / Diverse

Diversity is for big left wing liberal companies-we hire the best employee that wants to work and will not cause trouble or make wakes in our organization

Environmental Friendliness

We need to be concerned with other things other then the fake news helping the environment

Workplace Safety

Required by law

Teamwork

We need to work as a big team

Attitude towards older colleagues

We have a lot of long term employees

Support from management

I am management

Office / Work Environment

Does fine here

Challenging Work

I have a lot of duties and work a lot of hours.

Internal Communication

Good over all

Gender Equality

They get paid well-that should be the only thing that matters.

Freedom to work independently

We have to watch over them to make sure all government regulations are followed

Job Security

Great place to get started, offers paid training and job placement. Work hours are long and mandatory

What I like

Training and certification was paid for. Offers job placement. Great co workers and residents (most of the time).

What I dislike

Disapprove with the hours and having to work double shifts or getting called in on a day off. Very short staffed. Employees are not valued and managers don't care about personal situations. Must call in at least three hours before your shift or its a point or more against you and after 10 points you're fired.

Suggestions for improvement

Get rid of the 10 points in one year policy and be more understanding of personal situations. Management could do more to motivate the employees and praise them for a job well done. Be flexible with the hours employees can work especially if they have young children and understand that children can get sick at school or day care and need to be picked up during a shift.

What I like

Managers are very easy to talk to, and bring issues to. That's very nice to have.

What I dislike

Budget cuts, they cut out the smaller departments that are very important. Instead of cutting from larger less necessary areas

Suggestions for improvement

Upper management needs to listen to their employees
