Many policies keep me from working at my full potential. But overall it is a great district to work for in California.

I love teaching. We do have a bit of a top down problem. Our district doesn’t always listen to teachers needs.

What I like

I love teaching at my particular school. The community and other teachers are wonderful. Again some of the things the district does does not meet teachers needs in the classroom.

What I dislike

Administrative communication. The district listening to teachers needs in the classroom. Giving teachers more time to plan and absorb new programs.

Suggestions for improvement

I think the district could work on communication. They could also work on giving teachers more planning time and job shares for new parents.

This employer pays on the low end for our area. You will be better compensated inot other districts.

What I like

The people with whom I work are some of the kindest people you could work with.

What I dislike

Changes are top down rather than collaborative. Communication regarding change is lacking.

Suggestions for improvement

Communicate better with front-end staff. If the people who have the most contact with parents and students feel supported and happy, families and students will feel supported and happy, too.

I work with kids that are excited to learn and other teachers who want to help each other to reach the goals set out.

What I dislike

The pay does not equal the amount of work put in and expected. Need more support to get the job done b

Suggestions for improvement

Less strict requirements for the students. Allowing students time to achieve goals without assessing them
