Company Culture

Good. No complaint or concerns.

Support from management

Management support has been good. I have no complaints.

Teamwork

We work as a team at store 103.

Freedom to work independently

No complaint or problems noted.

Internal Communication

No complaints.

Gender Equality

No complaint or concerns.

Attitude towards older colleagues

I am a retiree. SAS staff including regional manager etc. at store 103 have all been welcoming and willing to make sure my learning needs were met. I have been here one year.

Career Development

I am retired and have enjoyed working as sales representative. I have not considered promotion at this time.

Overall compensation for your work

Starting salaries should be $10/h to meet rising cost of living.

Office / Work Environment

Store 103 is a caring place to work.

Environmental Friendliness

SAS has a friendly work environment.

Work-Life Balance

It has worked well for me. I try to be flexible in my schedule. Store managers have always been flexible as well.

Company Image

Customers all speak highly of SAS and its product.

Job Security

I am satisfied that SAS will be around for a long time to come.

Handicapped Accessibility

Handicap accessibility from vehicle to door is too far...

Workplace Safety

There is not an alarm system or panic button available for staff. Most of staff is female. Many have related to incidences in which a male was lingering outside of building as they were leaving or stories have been told about occurrences in which troubling situations have happened within store. Safety measures need to be upgraded as the store remains open late after many surrounding business have closed for the day. Should a staff member yell for help there is no one available..

Challenging Work

I work hard to meet the needs of the customer. Customer service can build or destroy companies. SAS is rocking in regard to its effort to promote positive customer service experiences.

Inclusive / Diverse

Currently 103 is a diverse group. We work well together.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Panic button or an alarm systems in all stores is greatly needed. Mens shoe boxes need to be wider. Several times men have complained that the shoes they are trying on seem to be leaning downward. That is because shoes are too massive for the boxes in which they are being placed.

What I like about the company

I enjoy working with people. Friendliness of our customers and their response to a staff that is positive and interested in their wellbeing makes a big difference in the overall experience for everyone involved.

What I dislike about the company

Lack of safety mechanism being in place to protect staff and customer.
