No, No, and No. They don't care about what you think
No, the way the company is structured it puts sales against everyone else in the company.
Freedom to work independently
No, They track everything you do from your computer to a GPS in your car.
Only when we are down do we hear anything.
Attitude towards older colleagues
If you are old your in! Then they wonder why sales go down.
There is no way to advance your career here. Sure you can take classes but for what?
Overall compensation for your work
Absolutely not! Management is doing great though.
I think so but I'm not sure.
If the company had it their way you would work every hour of the day.
Nope! The customers are starting to catch on as well.
No job security. You are a fire at will employee. Lets put it this way they had 300 Account Manager and are now down to 124 with a 30% layoff coming soon.
Not really. If you're young (under 40) you have no chance at any good position.

No it is a dictatorship.
Suggestions for improvement
- Pay your people and the company will grow. Not grow and the company can pay you more. Stop investing in company infrastructure it is fine. Use that money to get people selling again. Hire people that have a clue about the industry and promote people that have shown excellence and not the company suck ups. Offer more career advancement to sales people or at least pay them decently.
What I like about the company
Not much. Operations is doing a better job but everything else is a mess.
What I dislike about the company
I could go on forever but bad senior management, bad commission plan that changes every year for the worse, no room for advancement, just recently reinstated a matching 401k after 7 years of none, bad customer care department, unrealistic sales goals for certain sister companies, to many chiefs, good old boy mentality, heading towards all inside sales and category managers, Always have to grow even in bad economic times, Filed for bankruptcy in 2013, company is run like a military operation, No pay increases for years, and last one very micromanaging mentality.
