Working from 8:30AM-10PM for 5 or 6 days per week is hard on a family! We had eleven people working in my depot and I was the only person who wasn't divorced at least once, but then I was the new guy.
All the route reps hate the company, but the hours make it hard to interview and find another job.
The company changes the pay structure whenever they choose. Always telling the route reps that we will make more, which is never true.
They assign the new guy a route full of people who tell you they don't want the service and the managers won't allow you to remove them from the route. Thus the new guy spends the day being yelled at (if the customer comes to the door) and denied sales.
Suggestions for improvement
- Allow the route sales reps (rsr) to remove the disinterested and non-buying customers, which gives the rsr time to build the route with interested and buying customers. Find a way to pay a new rsr who works more hour and makes less sales while he/she is building the route.
What I dislike about the company
They send you on an overnight (multiple times in some routes) and only give you $11 per diem.
