Suggestions for improvement
- I would like to see a little more space for providing patient care. Rooms are way to small. Updated monitoring equipment as the ones we have currently are outdated. Getting rid of some or all the protocols. I feel like that should be for nurses to use when a doctor is not present, not for the doctor to use. Overall, more than 30 min for lunch. 12 -hr shift in a fast paced environment is hard enough, 30 min is like a breath of air before you're back in the game again. Feedback from patients with in house surveys intermittently given after being treated. It can be a thankless job so having some instant feedback from patients positive or negative could be helpful in catering our care specifically for their needs.
What I like about the company
They have a culture of hiring people that are ready willing and able to do the job no matter how difficult. They pride themselves on finding valuable people to work for their company and it shows. I have worked with a lot of people over the years and thought the last job I would not meet anyone who was willing to go in the trenches with you. Well, I am pleased to say I found a similar group of individuals here and am very grateful. It really makes a huge difference in how your day goes. Non judgmental, helpful, smart, individuals all working as a cohesive unit.
What I dislike about the company
I'm not very fond of the protocols for patient care. I would like to have the doctor write the orders instead of referring to an order set on a piece of paper that has been printed out. It annoys me to pieces because it feels like the doctors are on autopilot when they use these pre-filled order forms for multiple scenarios not just one. I feel like we lose the clinical part of healthcare when we do this.
