The atmosphere is very stressful, not enough help and too much work result in missed deadlines and fear of repercussions. I have not witnessed many managers or leads standing up for their subordinates.
Support from Management
In the 9 years I have worked for Sears management has reduced staffing to the point we regularly have departments with no associates for hours a day. Every year they reduce our staff and hours and then insist the remaining associates try to take on the additional work. In most situations the expectations are not realistic for a single associate to accomplish.
