Broad dissatisfaction throughout company. High turnover. Frequent layoffs.
Support from management
First and sometimes second level support is great. Little support at mid- and upper-management levels.
Solid team spirit among employees.
Freedom to work independently
Strictly rule driven. "The tail wagging the dog." Innovation, independence and creativity discouraged.
Fair at lower levels. Minimal at top. Found out about 3 different layoffs 1) same day verbally 2) showing up and being told there was no work and 3) by phone on day off. Not advised of system changes, company takeover, rules and procedure changes in a timely manner.
Healthy representation by women and people of color in management and supervisory positions.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Very poor. No advancement and some questionable terminations of older employees.
Marginal. Many jobs not posted and filled by internal connections.
Overall compensation for your work
Awful. Last salary increase was lowest % in my 30+ years as professional employee, despite awards with the company and 15+ years as an employee with this company.
Office / Work Environment
Fair participation in community programs.
Fairly flexible with scheduling.
Good public image but very poor morale. Has declines since company changed hands.
Non-existant. I have been laid-off, rehired, and laid off again in the last 3 months without notice despite 15+ years with the company. Frequent lay-offs and department closings.
Drone-like, routine work.
Inclusive / Diverse
Suggestions for improvement
- Create more secure, employee-supportive environment. Better compensation for rank-and-file employees.
What I like about the company
Good co-workers. Supportive first-level supervision.
What I dislike about the company
Corporate culture. Lack of concern for hourly workers. Poor communications. Lack of job security.
