Support from management
Human resources is great. Supervisors don't listen very well, tend to pass judgement, and act like they don't want to be bothered. They have an I'm better than you attitude.
Some jobs are done with two people and some with only one, however the pairs are not always compatible. Short of help on trim table and not enough space to work efficiently. Also need a better way for people away from conveyers to get product to sorters. A lot of wasted time.
Freedom to work independently
You get put wherever they tell you to go. Most times you have to work with someone else.
Upper management receives quality emails when what is accepted changes. They don't relay that to the workers very well.
Our shift is mostly women, but men do get hired also.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Haven't seen many older people get hired, but I know that they try to find something that works for everyone and don't give up on people easily.
Not really much growth to do personally.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is good and we get bonuses quarterly for profit sharing as well as 6 month reviews where you can earn pay for performance.
Office / Work Environment
Trim table is crowded, need to be bigger, and needs another conveyer. Lines are very hot in the summer because there is no air conditioning. Ventilation system doesn't always make things better.
Scrap foam and cardboard are recycled as well as regular recyclable objects.
4 day weeks are great, but overtime had been the rule a lot. Very little sleep when you start at 2:30 am. Hard to manage kids in school, weekend getaways, or other thing that happen away from work. Personal days are hard to earn and no vacation until after a year of employment.
I am happy with the work I do. I just do not like my job. It's not for everybody.
Growing all the time. Opening another plant soon.
Really no place for handicapped to work any where in the building.
Have cut proof gloves and safety glasses to work and everything is properly labeled.
I am proud of my work. Job looks easy, but is very hard on your body.
Inclusive / Diverse
On the manual line everyone has their own way of doing things, opinions are allowed, but it's better to go through email to someone in reedsburg than to make suggestions here.
Suggestions for improvement
- Improve trim table. Supervisors need to treat people equally. Make sure everyone knows about changes in quality. Make personal days and vacation more readily available to employees.
What I like about the company
4 day work weeks, pay is good, constantly expanding
What I dislike about the company
