Support from management
No coordination between management and employees. No support of employees positions in conflicts with clients. Blame is always placed on employees in all client disputes.
People are helpful and always answer all the question to the best of their ability.
Freedom to work independently
Work is distributed on the first come, first served bases. But if you are stuck on a large project owner will not care and demand that you do more projects.
No meeting - never ever, not a single one in 5 years. No information on the company status is sheared with employees.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Senior workers are being hired.
No growth. The company is to small, there is no way to grow. It is you and the boss no one in between. No training for anything is provided.
Overall compensation for your work
Company pays 50% of the benefits plan they provide. Company always pays on time. But the compensation is minimal for the industry with large work loads.
Office / Work Environment
Computers are mostly outdated and are hard to use even to view plans in PDF. Owner always trying to save money on the heat/air conditioner - so it's way to worm in the summer and chilly in the winter.
Company uses a lot of paper and reuses a lot of it.
Vacation is no problem can always come and go as long as not to many people have taken the same days as you are. Vacations are given on first come first served bases. Fair and square.
Employees are not fond of the company they work at. The only reason people are their is to collect a pay check. Employees know that company and owner does not care about them enough to pay them well.
The owner can not fire people, even the worst employees which came 3 days a week and called-in sick for the rest were kept and on payroll for month until they quite.
No accessibility. Office third floor with only one walk-up stair case.
There is not sense of accomplishment. Finish one project - take the next one. There is no system to praise the employees for completing anything in any way or form.
Inclusive / Diverse
Employees suggestions are rejected 99.9% of the time. New and more officiant ways of completing task are rejected simply to ovoid possible complication related to training.
Suggestions for improvement
- Establish a system to identify the employees contribution. Introduce commission - even a small amount will drive productivity and people's involvement in the process.
