On paper the culture looks really good. An action their culture is not what they say.
Support from management
There is no support from management. The site manager will slice your throat from behind. And the supervisors are terrified to support any individual employee for fear that they will lose their own jobs.
There is no team. Everyone are out for themselves.
Freedom to work independently
Independent work is not going to happen within this company. They tell you what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. If it is not done exactly as they state and demand then you will be written up.
The only communication you get is if you are going to receive a reprimand.
Most of the staff are male there are some female guards.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There are older people on staff. The new site manager gives them a harder time than younger people.
To be trained forearm boarding is one thing. To gain any other training unless you do it on your own does not happen.
Overall compensation for your work
They don't pay enough for having to put up with all the crap you have to put up with. The insurance is horrible as they do not pay the way that has been presented.
Office / Work Environment
The environment is extremely toxic!
There is no true environmental friendliness as it is a very cut-throat, back - stabbing place to work, by all who work there.
There is no work-life balance. They expect you to work anytime they call you. People are calling out constantly so you have to work or face being written up.
On paper the image is great, however, the truth is it is not what they say
There is no job security with this company. The HR department will make decisions about your job without even talking to you. When this is discovered and you discuss it with them they quickly change the subject. The site manager will put things in your file that you don't even know have been placed there. If you go to work for this company, watch your back!
All handicapped regulations are in place.
The workplace safety regulations are in place. Nothing special.
This is security, it is not rocket science.
Inclusive / Diverse
It used to be very inclusive and accepting. The new site manager came on board and he does not care for gay people. Therefore he finds reasons to nail you for any little thing.
Suggestions for improvement
- Before making decisions about an employee, talk to them first. You need to listen to all sides. Your HR department does not do that. It is not always your managers who are in the right.
What I like about the company
One supervisor, who shall remain nameless, was fair and honest and friendly.
What I dislike about the company
The site manager, who shall remain nameless, is back - stabbing, sneaky, underhanded, and would lie through his teeth to save his own self.
