Suggestions for improvement
- Pay your employees well and treat them with respect. If you offer vacation days and will not let people leave for the holidays then you should express that in the interview process.
I like about the employer
Really great office and a great group of people (co-workers only). Bagels and pizza every Friday which is a nice perk, super laid back office. You don't have to dress up everyday
I dislike about the employer
"Management" are three men. No real HR department. The stress of working on a deadline can cause a harsh vibe in the office. Asking for a day off is like you're asking for the world. Pay is not industry standard. There are amazing people doing the job of a senior editor working there for under 30K. They don't let you take vacations. Rotating door, they fire good workers at will because they're "not the right fit." Oh they expect you to work on weekend with out getting paid overtime and then you go ask for overtime pay their favorite words are "We're a start up, we don't pay you for overtime but you have to work on the weekends"
