Many times administration has made assumptions about the decisions their employees would make and then let those employees go based off of those assumptions. For example, one of the teachers was let go because the budget called for a cut on the pay in her department and instead of speaking with that teacher about it, they let her go because they thought she'd be unhappy with the pay cut. There have been other instances like this among administration decision making.
Colleagues feel like family. As long as administration isn't constantly coming around, everyone is happy, carefree, and doing their jobs to the best of their abilities.
