Support from management
My boss has been nothing but supportive.
Overall compensation for your work
I know I could make more money somewhere else. My boss and my work life balance make it worth it to stay there for now at least.
It's very fast paced and demanding.
Suggestions for improvement
- I wish they would have adopted a maternity leave sooner than they did. Further subsidizing parking and a pay increase would be appreciated. I stay because my boss is amazing and I'm dedicated to the work, but at some point when my kids are older I'll likely move on because of the pay and commute.
What I like about the company
They have been great with my schedule since I had my children. I started there in my mid twenties and got my masters, got married and had kids while I was there. They've provided flexible hours, tuition assistance and the ability to work from home with my kids a few days a week which I've very grateful for. They've been very supportive of my position and transitioning me to different positions as well as letting me transition to work I'm interested in and invested in.
What I dislike about the company
The commute is expensive. The price or parking keeps rising along with the price of the T. If they could somehow further subsidize parking it would make getting to work much easier. I have to drop my kids off in the morning which makes it impossible to take the T in and even if I could I'd have to take the commuter rail which would not make it possible for me to get home if one of them is sick. They also don't pay especially well compared to other places.
