Suggestions for improvement
- Executive management should be more involved, especially in IT. IT was almost always at the end of the line for office space, new hire allocations, etc. Often felt like IT had little to no representation at the executive level.
What I like about the company
Flexible working hours. If you wanted to go home at noon, nobody cared as long as you could get your work done and be available if needed.
What I dislike about the company
Massive culture of nepotism stretching back decades. Members of “the Family” often can and do treat other employees with disrespect with zero consequence.
People tend to get ignored if they don’t aggressively stand up for themselves. Performance reviews and salary increases were few and far between.
Executive management tends to ignore problems, and shift blame. IT tends to be aloof, because it has no relationship with the rest of the business. Results in poor relationships between IT and other departments.
