Company Culture

Culture is quite poor. Coworkers at the same level can be pleasant but that is quickly overshadowed by the harsh management.

Support from management

You get support if your a senior scientist and generate a lot a revenue. If not, your last on list to receive resources.

Teamwork

This one depends on who you are working with. Some people help each other a lot (I take the time to help others even outside my department). But others only help themselves and only care about their own work. But you cant really blame them because they are only held accountable for their own work by management.

Freedom to work independently

You only have the freedom to work independently due to the lack of help.

Internal Communication

Poor communication across all levels. Some problems could easily be avoided if people communicated more. That being said, people have to listen!

Gender Equality

Two employees with the same level of experience, who started at the same time, and hold the same title/role and the male makes more by many thousand a year.

Career Development

Great for career development. If you can stick it out for a few years then you can get a much better job that pays very well somewhere else.

Overall compensation for your work

You can easily make an extra 10k a year by going somewhere else. Not even close to average compensation for a scientist in Massachusetts.

Work-Life Balance

I literally go months without working less than 45 hours in a week.

Job Security

Saw 3 people get laid off in one day with no notice.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Cultural overhaul. Management makes excuses for why people leave stating that they go somewhere else because they want to do a different kind of work. Well, if it was such a great place to work people would actually stay because the work is actually quite interesting. it is the company and the culture that makes in unbearable.

Leaving for the day.

Pressure to complete work under tight deadlines with lack of resources.

  • Actually care about the employees, not just give us gilded non-sense. Pay that is worthy of the position.
