Goodyear AZ location is vibrant and thriving with pride in products and personal performances.
Support from management
Solid support from most of managers.
Common problem is all shifts are not moving in unison. Egoism gets in the way and veers away from the stated goals. Not unique to here.
Freedom to work independently
Little micromanaging. But closely monitored to ensure peak production.
Strong comm’s from TL’s to subordinates. Daily briefings on plan of the day ensure clarity and accuracy.
HR dept is top notch. Friendly and fair.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most of staff is middle aged women. All are treated fairly and with respect.
Not much upward mobility in this facility.
Overall compensation for your work
Upper Management has a tendency to pay at the lowest threshold for new supervisors. Hourly’s are paid fairly. Raises are low % to compensate for leveling low-balled supervisors. Personal performances are not compensated adequately. System needs overhauled at corporate level. Performance bonuses system a joke.
Office / Work Environment
Fast paced with little tolerance for mistakes or laziness. Majority of personnel adapt quickly and thrive.
Very focused on operating as “green” as possible.
Forced OT is sometimes excessive. Demands of business dictate weekend work sometimes with little notice.
Excellent image. Produce superior products.
Strong future for this plant. Do your job and you can literally work here all your adult life.
Very strong safety culture. Communicated daily to associates and management moves quickly to fix potential safety issues.
Challenging for supervisors, machine operators. Not so much for hourly’s, but most want it that way.
Suggestions for improvement
- Place more emphasis on doing things for associates. Too often tight budgets dictate taking “nice to have” benefits away from them.
What I like about the company
Very bright leadership cadre. Excellent at performing their roles. Plant Director is a motivating, friendly but stern leader who drives results.
What I dislike about the company
Not much to dislike. Going public awhile back changed everything, some good, some not so good. But still a really great place to work for all depts and performance levels.
