Company Culture
The culture is very inclusive and supportive. Everyone is friendly, professional, and helpful.
Support from management
Management is very available at all levels, and due to a relatively flat management structure, you have access to senior management.
What I like about the company
Societe Generale's motto was "A Great Place to Work", and it really is. Like most global investment banks, the people are competent and professional, the work is challenging, and the tools/systems/processes are well developed. Unlike most global investment banks, SG does not expect employees to work 24 hours a day, and you'll rarely see anyone in the office after 6 PM. That said, the compensation is not on par with Goldman or JP, but is still competitive. Finally, I found management to be extremely accessible due to a relatively flat management structure. This meant, that periodically I would find myself in a meeting with the America's COO, I got to present to the global CEO once, and regularly interacted with the America's CIO. In summary, really a great place to work, and I would have stayed forever had I not decided to leave NYC.
