Support from management
Tightly controlled, yet inconsistent management decision making. reactionary approach to selling opportunites, but limited by transparency and integrity perception by potential buyer. Typical "old school" auto dealer approach.
Turnover of staff and management approach negatively impacts the environment.
Freedom to work independently
generally a micro-manager mindset is comfort zone for decision makers.
Overall compensation for your work
Marin is an outstanding consumer market, however the clientele is very knowledgeable and affluent enough to understand well they have..options. Traffic and selling opportunities vary and the prevailing perception of management/integrity of the buying process at a moment impacts your ability to generate a sustainable income.
Typical dealership environment. 2 off day per week, but expect to work semi-regularly on your off days to generate viable commission income.
car business doesn't offer job security for floor sales people at any dealership I have ever seen if individual is NOT selling cars.
Inclusive / Diverse
Not specifically observed during my 20 months working there.
Suggestions for improvement
- Recruit and retain Senior managers well versed and committed to delivering client experience compatible with the expectations of the market served to maximize the selling opportunity that the facilities and demographic can support.
What I like about the company
The clientele and local Marin market potential. The facilities are world class, far nicer than most dealerships not brand new construction.
What I dislike about the company
Short-sighted management approach.
