This culture was not inclusive. Many times felt excluded from important decision making.
Support from management
Little to no support with any issue.
There were some members who were supportive but many who were not helpful to new teachers.
Freedom to work independently
Workload was heavy for all employees.
Communication was poor as a whole.
Training and mentoring was mainly expected to be done by the employee. Mentors were not helpful or available.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits were ok but the pay was substandard.
Office / Work Environment
The facilities were nice but there were not enough resources for teaching expectations.
Very aware of community needs.
Little to no work life balance. There was rarely time to plan and rarely time for family life. Constantly worked on the weekends and late after work.
Never felt secure in my job. Always felt like I was expendible. I was not valued as an employee.
Was very challenging.
Suggestions for improvement
- Allow employees to be treated equally. Include everyone in decision making when it directly affects their work. Offer feedback to help employees improve. Make your employees feel like what they're doing matters.
