Suggestions for improvement
- I would like to see the Administrative staff on the Units with the patients occasionally. I think they forget the patients are even there! Also, when making new policies and new forms for us, I would like the Administrative staff to work with the people who are on the front lines with the patients. Also, to keep up with other, local similar type employees, I would like all employees to get tuition reimbursement. The direct care staff here should also get more money and more frequent paid breaks during their shifts.
What I like about the company
I enjoy the people I work with. There is a lot of commrodery among us. I work night shift so we have a small, tight group of people on that shift.
What I dislike about the company
There is little to no communication between administration and the rest of the employees. One area is new staff, of which there are always lots, are never introduced to existing staff. I feel this is something Human Resources could easily do. The same thing applies when an existing staff is promoted or moved to a different location. Also, we have very few housekeeping staff and it shows! The whole hospital is always filthy!Additionally, the night staff are promised a free meal every shift, upon hire, but we are rarely left with food. And when we are, it isn't even enough for half of us.
