Folks sitting in the same cube farm have no idea what others are working on. Same goes for the labs.
Freedom to work independently
It is imperative to work independently since there is no real leadership that can coordinate efforts.
Most important information is only shared with Sr. Management. In trying to please the market place, more is shared with investors than with internal staff.
there is seemingly gender equality since the idea for all the research comes from a female.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The younger the better, seems to be the model. This way, Sr. managers always have the greater experience. There is never an attitude to hire anyone who is more knowledgeable in any area more than Sr. management.
Once you come in at a certain level, that is where you will stay. Sr. management brings in friends to take the higher positions that sometimes have been created just for them.
Office / Work Environment
This is one area that is positive, they use real flatware, coffee cups , plates and glasses.
Dishwashers are utilized to make a serious dent on trash going into the environment.
Work-life balance is excellent for the executives. Millions of bonus and stock options going to the leadership team. as for the rest of the workers, life isn't that great.
the work is challenging but the managers will not let lower level employees do what is needed
Inclusive / Diverse
They are very diverse but only for admin jobs. there is no diversity at higher levels.
Suggestions for improvement
- There needs to be real leadership. Emphasis is always on the market, not on the employees. Moral will improve with better leaders.
What I like about the company
The research is ground breaking! If successful, this is the beginning of serious benefits to the health and approach to therapies for folks with genetic illnesses.
What I dislike about the company
It is blatant greed that drives the Sr. management team. They are perfect examples of how bringing drugs and therapies to market are so costly.
