What I miss about Sparrows, is the people that I worked with.
Support from management
In my case support from my direct manager was non-existent. Never fought for our team.
My department knew how to work well together, as long as we kept our manager out of it.
Freedom to work independently
It ranged from sink or swing to micromanagement weekly.
It was hit or miss on the quality of communication from management.
Attitude towards older colleagues
We knew where we could get our tough questions answered.
Other departments were offered easier advancements than mine.
Overall compensation for your work
Fairly compensated in my opinion.
Office / Work Environment
Tense. I had a very outspoken manager that was a sailor.
Family defiantly came first in my department. There was no doubting that.
I believe that it has started to stabilize after a free fall in the last few years. At least in the states.
My department survived several reductions in personnel.
It was very routine as cubicle work is by nature.
Inclusive / Diverse
We had people from all over the world working at our location.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would suggest that they speak with the employees and not just middle and upper management.
What I like about the company
They know how to place family first.
What I dislike about the company
Lack of career advancement and cross training.
