Company Culture

Many times upper management didn't look at the whole picture of a situation and allowed their personal perception color their judgment

Support from management

Not a lot of support with most management. Very few great managers that were willing to help you succeed

Teamwork

Most stores have team members that are out for themselves instead of working together

Freedom to work independently

Many times there are a couple people that are really great workers and then there are others that refuse to help with items that needed to get done

Internal Communication

There were a lot of times when you were told different ways to do a project that conflicted previous instruction

It's all who you know

Attitude towards older colleagues

Most had been there for a long period of time or had friends that were there for a long period of time

There are certain rules you need to follow

Didn't give raises

Office / Work Environment

Many stores were needing a few things fixed in the stores but overall the stores were good

If it benefited company financially

Work-Life Balance

Many managers worked with your outside work life. A few would only go by what you application said even if it was put in 8+ years before

Many people that quit mention it's the best decision they ever made

Job Security

Everyone is replaceable if opinion's didn't agree

Handicapped Accessibility

Older stores didn't have automatic doors but many employees were quick to help any one that needed assistance

Workplace Safety

No security, many stores have had break ins and theft. Few stores have had cars crash into front of stores or on the sides

Challenging Work

You had a lot of customer interaction, product interaction and work to keep you occupied

Inclusive / Diverse

Very few ideas were listened to with an open mind

Suggestions for improvement

  • Complete over haul in management. Good ol boy club doesn't work with a million dollar company. To many back door deals and friends making deals under the table

There are a few people higher in the company that you can learn amazing things from

What I dislike about the company

They do not give raises, unless you throw petiole under the buys you probably won't get a promotion, hard workers are often looked over and kept in the same positions to run the store while managers collected checks and didn't do their job
