There were no commandments. Work credit was often taken by another. No work climate fairness or trust.
Support from management
No leadership or support from management or owner. Anyone below management is considered disposable.
Employees worked well together.
Management and above did not work well with employees.
Freedom to work independently
Workload was fairly distributed. Management would not allow for employees own structure and responsibility.
Communication was often belittling if there was any.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Employees with years of employment are still considered disposable.
There is no opportunity for advancement
Overall compensation for your work
Rarely a raise. Minimal compensation. The only thing that was great and very looked forward to was a Christmas bonus check and the one paid week of vacation if you could manage to schedule it in.
Office / Work Environment
Working conditions were fair. Heated in winter, cool in summer. Garage as well. Employees kept garage and office clean.
The only environmental consideration was the reuse of used oil in a used oil furnace and filters were crushed and recycled.
It was hard to even ask for a day off, never mind coming in the next day and being snubbed.
I've never heard an employee talk kindly of the company.
Pride gets shut down quickly.
