The culture here is cutthroat and negative, very oppressive. You never know who is your friend or who is telling on you. People are favored on whims and fired on whims. No proof of wrong doing or right doing necessary. Extremely hostile, bitter, negative. In front of the owner everyone repeats the company mantra. When the owner is not there everyone is miserable and fearful, insecure for their own jobs and rightfully so. In 3 months, 8 people were fired - 2 had been there more than 10 years - due to being told on by other people for outside of work/non work related things.
The goals set are completely unrealistic and unachievable. Employees are asked for feedback and input and if they aren't repeating the exact same stuff the owner says they are punished, even fired for it. Owner is extremely unprofessional, asking women to dress prettier and do their hair and makeup in a more atrractive way all the time. The owner is prone to modd swings, temper tantrums, and being very nasty towards employees. Extremely untrustworthy.
Employees do the best they can under existing circumstances. Owner promotes telling on other employees for offenses such as "not creating good energy" or "laughing too much at the front desk". Employees who tell on other employees are rewarded. Those who have been told on are fired even if they have been there for years. This includes any interactions outside of work (saw you at the grocery store and you didn't say hi so you're not promotig positive energy).
There is 0 autonomy. Every word you speak is very clearly outlined and enforced verbatim. No, the owner doesn't adhere to any of it, but you have to or you will be fired. There is no workload to be distributed. If you are a favorite (gained by telling on another employee) you don't have to do anything. Everyone else will do the work for you, even if it's not their job (financial services does PT because the PT guy is a favorite).
You will have mutliple meetings a day, every day, every week. Nothing is communicated at any of these meetings. This is strictly a time when the owner can tell you about a negative experience he had (store didn't sell organic cheese, restaurant was running slow, ER doctor didn't call him on his own accord the morning after an ER visit to ask how things were) then threaten to fire you if you choose to continue to use X business.
Only the owner has opportunities here. No one else will ever gain anything here.
No one over 35 is really hired unless they are attractive physically to the owner.
Absolutely no advancement here in any area at all.
Benefits are miserable. Compensation is a joke and not equal to work done or skills used.
The computer system used is not intended For that type of business so there are some issues there. It is paperless so at least two people a day spend a combined 10 hours or more on the paperwork generated by using an incompatible system. There are no breakrooms, refrigerators, or microwaves. You can eat standing up or at a pic nic table outside. No water bottles allowed unless they are clear glass with a lid and straw purchased only at the owners preferred location. Office itself is beautifully down with nice colors and artwork.
Owner says all the right things for being environmentally and socially aware but only holds enployees to this stabdard. The owner does not participate in any environmental or social activities/behaviors/causes. Owner will advise eating an organic apple washed in fresh spring water will hammering down a McDonalds tea and burger.
The benefits will leave you in tears. Holidays are not paid. Vacation is earned after a year and is not paid (so work a year and take a week off but no pay for that). Everyone is a ull time employee - no one gets more than 32 hours a week. Ever. If you ask for full time hours you will be fired. You can be scheduled 12-7 and get a call asking you to come in at 9 but take a 5 hour lunch to make up for it. Even if you are scheduled the owner will "phase" you everyday early. So if you are scheduled 12-7, owner will ask you to come in at 9, take a 4 hour lunch and send you home early (phase) at 5 to save money on labor hours.
There is a page on social media specifically for ex employees because they go through people rapidly. They fire about 3+ people a month (for a 20 person office). Nobody talks fondly about this place.
Less than none. People are fired almost weekly for non offenses, without warning, generally via text message late at night before your next scheduled shift. No one feels secure or stable here.
Generally this is a very accessible place, though the owner will make fun of you for being lazy if you are handicapped... After you leave of course.
Company does not care for safety. Several patients have suffered burns here, therapists aren't given appropriate tools, no ergonomics involved at all. The focus here is on looking good, not actually being good.
No matter how hard you work, how exceptional yor ideas, how great you do, it will never be good enough. Also, projects are expected to be completed at home for free on your time. The only time you will be complimented on your work is if you show off your body.
The owner is misogynistic, racist, and prejudiced. The owner will take money from anyone but frequently spouts his early 1900's opinions about evetyone, patients and employees alike, every chance he gets. Diversity is not tolerated or welcomed here.
The patient care model is a good one, though not universal to every patient. If I didn't know the owner as a person I would go here as a patient.
Owner is misogynistic, prejudice, racist, and bigoted and is overly threatened by anyone who isn't. Nothing done to make it a good place to work for employees. No job security. Extremely toxic environment.
