Suggestions for improvement
- Make more permanent positions instead of just contract
Direct supervisors wield that double edge sword. They can be commending most of the time and then cut you down the very next day without warning.
The top level management consistently made decisions that would directly conflict with proper needs of the services team providing what they were tasked with.
I always worked along with my colleagues and we all learn from one another. The support team was a great environment to work in.
Although SSE made available training materials to further education and certification for the staff engineers they lack a sincerity of why they want them to have these certifications. They were purely for their own company benefit and not primarily for the employee.
The company pays a modest income to its staff engineers in comparison to the same job position to their contractors. Staff employees should be considered more valuable and compensated accordingly. They also did not pay for overtime work in excess of 45 hours per week for salaried employees taking advantage and lowering overall wages versus a contract hourly worker.
